The most common places to locate them are motels and condo buildings. Bed bugs can survive annually without food. This enables them to travel from various places until they found a comforting place with food. They will hide on clothes and suitcases of travelers. Bed bugs are six legged parasitic insects that suck human and dog blood. Their size is approximately 1/4 inch with an oblong flat form. Their size is comparable to an apple seed. The top of portion of their bodies has gold colored hair, antennae and cone like eyes. The lower portion of their bodies is wrinkly similar to crinkled paper. Bed bugs are unable to fly however they can crawl very quickly. They grow and multiply within a temperature range of 70 degrees as much as 80 degrees Fahrenheit. A little bedbug, is referred to as a nymph, they are clear in color and changes into a red color after eating. To achieve adulthood, a nymph bed bug must shed its skin about five times. A typical female can lay five to seven eggs each week and can produce as much as five-hundred eggs throughout its life-span of Twelve months to eighteen months.
