Facts About Oak Cliff, TX - Oak Cliff was on the south bank of the Trinity River two miles south of downtown Dallas in central Dallas County. The original township was in the area bordered by Colorado Boulevard, Cliff Street, and Thirteenth Street. In 1845 a community named Hord's Ridge was at the site. In 1880 the Dallas, Cleburne and Rio Grande Railway was completed through the area. The community grew slowly until 1887, when Thomas L. Marsalis and John S. Armstrong bought several hundred acres of land, including the community of Hord's Ridge, on the south bank of the Trinity River. They named the area Oak Cliff. -TSHA

Oak Cliff, TX Bedbugs, Fleas & Ticks - Bed bugs are six legged parasitic creatures that suck human and animal blood. Their length is around 1/4 of an inch with an oval flat shape. Their size is comparable to an apple seed. The top area of their body has gold colored hair, antennae and cone like eyes. The bottom part of their bodies is wrinkly similar to crinkled paper. Bed bugs cannot fly however they can crawl quickly. They increase and multiply in the temperature range of 70 degrees up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. A little bed bug, is called a nymph, they are see-through in color and changes into a red color after eating. To achieve adulthood, a nymph bed bug has to shed its skin approximately 5 times. A typical female can lay 5 to 7 eggs per week and can produce approximately five hundred eggs throughout its life span of 12 months to 1.5 years. The eggs will hatch in just 6 to 17 days when they become known as nymphs. Bed Bug eggs are resistant to pesticides. Bed bugs hide in bedding, rugs, bedsheets, clothes, underneath wallpaper, under towels, between drape folds, behind wall decors and behind wooden furnishings. They like to strike during the night and they will remain active until before dawn. Bedbugs bite exposed skin of a individual sleeping in an infested bed and then leave reddish colored scratchy dots. They just don't wander off from sleeping and lounging areas but they manage to travel more than 100 feet during the night to look for meals.

Termite Treatment Oak Cliff, TX

wooden
Termite Treatment in Oak Cliff, TX - Subterranean termites are generally called quiet destroyers, because they in many cases are trying to hide at your residence or in your property without any indications of damage. All termites ingest wood based plant materials. All homes whatever their particular construction type, can provide cellulose food for subterranean termites. Wood eating termites feast upon decomposed vegetation and trees and shrubs within the dirt. A wood eating termite's jaws are capable of tearing pieces of cellulose substance. This capacity is the thing that will cause worry in our dwellings. A normal nest of underground termites may well consume 16 grams of wood on a daily basis. This is about 13 lbs. of wood annually.
