Their size is comparable to an apple seed. The top area of their body has gold colored hair, antennae and cone like eyes. The bottom part of their bodies is wrinkly similar to crinkled paper. Bed bugs cannot fly however they can crawl quickly. They increase and multiply in the temperature range of 70 degrees up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. A little bed bug, is called a nymph, they are see-through in color and changes into a red color after eating. To achieve adulthood, a nymph bed bug has to shed its skin approximately 5 times. A typical female can lay 5 to 7 eggs per week and can produce approximately five hundred eggs throughout its life span of 12 months to 1.5 years. The eggs will hatch in just 6 to 17 days when they become known as nymphs. Bed Bug eggs are resistant to pesticides. Bed bugs hide in bedding, rugs, bedsheets, clothes, underneath wallpaper, under towels, between drape folds, behind wall decors and behind wooden furnishings. They like to strike during the night and they will remain active until before dawn. Bedbugs bite exposed skin of a individual sleeping in an infested bed and then leave reddish colored scratchy dots. They just don't wander off from sleeping and lounging areas, but they manage to travel more than 100 feet during the night to look for meals.
