Facts About Richland Hills, TX - Richland Hills is at the intersection of State highways 26 and 183, eight miles northeast of Fort Worth in central Tarrant County. It was probably established around World War II, when the development of defense-related industrial plants around Fort Worth spurred rapid population growth in the area. By the mid-1960s 9,000 persons lived in Richland Hills. The community population was 8,865 in 1976 and 7,978 in 1990. Richland Hills had ten manufacturers in 1975, and in 1990 forty plants produced tools, flour, and products made from rubber and from wood. In 2000 the population was 8,132. -TSHA
